Living Unit Studies
Fostering Connections while Bringing Learning to Life
Our unit studies are designed to immerse students in engaging, comprehensive lessons across multiple subjects. Inspired by Charlotte Mason’s philosophy, these unit studies are written in a living book-style. They include optional video links, hands-on learning activities, and field trip ideas to bring learning to life. Each unit study is designed to take 6 weeks to complete.

God’s Word;
Neutral Scientific Perspective
All of our units point to God’s glory through his creation and throughout history. However, we believe your family’s worldview is yours to teach to your child as you choose. Because of that, we keep God present throughout all of our units, but we omit dates, timelines, and theories that may be controversial until the high school years. In high school, we present the different viewpoints when necessary but do not teach to any one in particular.
Hi! I’m Ashley.
I’m a homeschool mama like many of you. And like many of you, I want the BEST for my children. When it came time to homeschool my own kids, I naturally looked and looked for the right curriculum. When I came across a classical education, I fell in love. But it wasn’t quite right for my kids. They needed to move and explore far more than our classical curricula was designed for. I found I was modifying it a lot to work for our homeschool. Then I came across Charlotte Mason’s ideas. Her approach was a better fit for them while remaining classically minded. Reading living books, followed by narrating, notebooking, and exploring nature was a lovely way to learn. But every subject started feeling the same. It was the same process over and over. And while we love nature study, I wanted to help my children dive into their other interests in science more deeply.
My background is in science writing and graphic design. So, naturally, I started designing our own science units. My love for history and literature soon followed suite—as we’ll be introducing history units and novel studies beginning in the 2025/2026 school year.
I hope these resources are a blessing for you and your family. I hope they breathe life into your homeschool and make learning fun again!
